Issue Position: Public Lands Use

Issue Position

National Forests were created as a reserve for "multiple use". These lands belong to the people, not the government. Federal agencies should only serve to manage them for the people's best interests, not create "King's Forests" for the benefit of radical agendas and human exclusion where only the King's officers can enter. These vast lands were set aside with the intention of allowing wise use, responsible access, economic opportunity and varied recreation for all generations of Americans to come. Much of the wealth of our nation came from allowing and responsibly promoting activity such as mining, forestry and cattle grazing. Wise land management is necessary to insure responsible activity, but the managers are not the owners.
