Care for Vermont's Seniors
Vermont is getting older. Our senior population is expected to grow by more than 87 percent over the next 15 years. As Vermont's population ages, the demand for accessible housing, quality medical services and first-rate long-term care will grow.
As Governor, Deb will support services that help seniors stay active, healthy and engaged. She will support efforts that keep seniors in their homes. This is not just important for a good quality of life, but it is less costly than long-term care. She will support senior centers and adult day cares and will encourage innovative projects that bring the young and old together to enrich each other's lives. Many of our seniors remain active and healthy. Deb knows what a great resource seniors can be as volunteers in our schools and in our communities.
Deb will engage Vermont's community organizations, medical professionals, service providers and families to ensure that Vermont seniors are afforded dignity and a good quality of life.
