I'm proud to have served as the Chairman of the Legislative Lottery Oversight Committee. Soon we will begin to reap the benefits of my Committee's hard work. Future students and adults, who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend college, will now have an opportunity to earn a college degree. As a young man whose parents could not afford to provide the money needed for college, I have a personal desire to see this state scholarship come to fruition. Nearly thirty thousand new scholarships each year will change the future of our state for the better. Also, in the last Legislative Session I was pleased to pass a law to provide for additional funding for our school districts that are involved in desegregation litigation. In the next Session I plan to work for increased funding for Pulaski Technical College.
