We take education seriously in Fayetteville. Our community serves as home of the University of Arkansas' flagship campus as well as many of the best elementary and secondary schools in the state. We rightfully take pride in our schools and the adult education opportunities Fayetteville makes available to those who wish to continue their education throughout life.
AppleWe know not all school districts in Arkansas are blessed with the same resources. We know that many struggle. And we know that our own schools here, too, face challenges. Consider: More than 350 Fayetteville High School students have quit school in the last three years. Fayetteville Public Schools are working hard to find new ways to engage and educate our students, but they and schools across the state need support from the General Assembly.
A good education is essential. We do not all choose to follow the same academic path, so we must make certain that we equip our schools with the resources necessary to provide the education our children deserve. We must also develop and create educational opportunities for those in our workforce looking to advance beyond their current careers.
