Property taxes are a burden on most homeowners, especially seniors and working families. Recently, legislation was passed in Harrisburg which added 422,000 residents to the Rent Rebate Program in order to help senior citizens and those with disabilities or on fixed incomes in their homes. Senator Mensch is working diligently to expand this program, and finding alternate sources of income for the Commonwealth while cutting wasteful spending at the same time.
Senator Mensch wants to work with the State Senate to bring comprehensive reform to our Property Tax structure in the state. Pennsylvania's government must learn to hold the line on taxes and live within its means. It is a commonsense approach that will reduce property taxes, preserve the quality of our schools, and give taxpayers a stronger voice.
Additionally, Bob Mensch supports legislation which will eliminate the "Death Tax." He feels that our State Government does not have the right to double-tax the property of those individuals who spent their life working hard so they are able to leave something behind for their loved ones.
