- I support the complete elimination of the Arkansas state sales tax on groceries, and I pledge to introduce legislation to remove this tax during the 2011 legislative session.
- Our ranchers and farmers compete not only in local markets, but compete in the world market with producers all over the globe. I pledge to introduce legislation to reduce the tax burden on family farms to support our current agricultural base and encourage young families to enter this vital industry. I want Arkansas to consider eliminating the capital gains tax on the sale of livestock.
- I support the elimination of the state sales tax on used vehicles. During the worst economic recession in our nation's history since the Great Depression, we should strive to reduce the tax burden on our citizens where possible. The state of Arkansas receives sales tax revenue on the sale of all new vehicles. The taxation of used cars in our state has not always been in place, and I believe the elimination of this tax would help average Arkansas families keep dependable transportation in place and relieve them during a time of severe economic decline.
