Issue Position

Having grown up Catholic, marrying a Baptist, and remaining strong in my Christian faith as a member of First United Methodist Church, I will not waiver on the sanctity of life. I am pro-life. When my husband and I just got married, we had about $25 in the bank, he was in medical school and I was working to pay our rent, bills and to eat. We were struggling. And then we got the news that I was expecting our first child! It was scary, it was not the right time, and we could hardly feed ourselves, much less a baby! So, I understand the circumstances that many young women unfortunately find themselves in. My husband and I dug deep, put our faith and trust in God, and never once considered abortion. That baby is now 15. She is a gift from God. This personal miracle of faith and trust is why I support any and all pro-life efforts in legislation.
