Congressman Adler: The U.S. -- Israeli Bond Remains Unshakable

Congressman John Adler today stressed the need for the international community to remain focused on the many diplomatic challenges that face the Mid-East. Congressman Adler, who recently visited the region with several other lawmakers, today released the following statement:

"The recent loss of life off the coast of Gaza is troubling, but it is critical that we gain a comprehensive understanding of the events before jumping to conclusions," said Congressman John Adler.

"The bond between the United States and Israel remains unshakable. For sixty-two years, our two nations have shared a deep commitment to democracy and lasting peace in the Mid-East. In a part of the world recognized for its conflict, Israel should retain its right to protect itself. The threats of a nuclear Iran and terrorism should remain a main focus of U.S. diplomatic efforts."
