Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter released the following statement on the Department of the Army Inspector General's report on the misconduct at Arlington National Cemetery. Shea-Porter is a Member of the House Armed Services Committee.
"I share my constituents' outrage at these truly disturbing reports," said Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter. "Arlington National Cemetery is sacred ground, and the families of our fallen soldiers deserve to know that their loved ones' burial sites are properly cared for. I commend Secretary McHugh's swift action in removing those in charge, and I look forward to a full investigation by the House Armed Services Committee."
The Army has established a special hotline for family members who have questions about their loved ones currently interred at the Arlington National Cemetery. That number is 703-607-8199.
