Fourth Fighting to Renew Ohio Stop Highlights Job Creation in Energy Efficiency

Continuing his push to highlight innovation and job creation in Ohio's 18th Congressional District through his FIGHTING TO RENEW OHIO tour, U.S. Rep. Zack Space (OH-18) today highlighted the potential for job creation through energy efficiency at JELD-WEN's window manufacturing plant in Mount Vernon.

Today's event was the fourth stop on Space's FIGHTING TO RENEW OHIO tour.

"Energy efficiency has perhaps the greatest potential for growth right here in Ohio, and we must get in front of this emerging trend," said Space. "JELD-WEN is a model for what we can -- and must -- do here in Ohio if we are to rebuild a stronger economy for the future of our region. We must continue these policies that are creating jobs, spurring manufacturing, and saving Ohio families money in the process."

Attendees of the event heard from Congressman Space and Brad Hunter, General Manager of JELD-WEN's Mount Vernon Plant. JELD-WEN has been able to benefit from federal policies -- such as tax credits and rebates -- that promote energy efficient practices and retrofits, creating jobs in the process. Such credits and rebates were included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the HomeStar Energy Retrofit Act, both of which Space supported when they came before the House.

Congressman Space has represented Ohio's 18th Congressional District since 2007. He has been working to restore integrity to the office, and to create the conditions to bring new industry and jobs to Ohio. Recently, Congressman Space launched FIGHTING TO RENEW OHIO, the second phase of his plan to provide long-term economic growth in Ohio's 18th Congressional District.
