Irresponsible federal spending is mortgaging the futures of our children and grandchildren. Much of the nation's debt is now owed to an adversarial and communist China. We must stop the current cycle of reckless spending before it is too late. Billions of dollars each year are spent on bloated, ineffective federal programs, more of which are being created through the so-called "stimulus." Let's halt funding for unnecessary programs and earmarks and redirect the money to core services and priorities such as much needed infrastructure. We need fewer government agencies, fewer government programs, fewer government employees and lower government salaries. For example, the Federal Department of Transportation in December of 2007 had one employee making more than $170,000.00 per year. 18 months later, the Federal Department of Transportation now has over 1,600 employees making over $170,000.00. That's wrong and it must stop now!
