Rogers: Congressional Budget Office Reports Health Law Skyrockets Government Spending by Another $115 Billion

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, MI-08, Rogers issued the following statement regarding a Congressional Budget Office report released today stating that at least $115 billion more in government spending will be needed to implement the 150 new federal government boards, commissions and agencies in the health care law:

"The American people were told by Democrats that health care reform would not add "a dime' to our budget deficit -- but today's CBO report confirms what I have been saying for over a year, that spending will skyrocket out of control under the new law. With the health care law price tag now at well over $1 Trillion, it is swelling our record budget deficit and forcing us to borrow even more money from China and Saudi Arabia. No wonder Democrats have abandoned even attempting to write next year's federal budget. Where will the outrageous spending stop? If Michigan families have to balance their budgets every day, so should Congress."
