Cantwell Welcomes Facebook to Seattle
Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell released this statement following Facebook's announcement that it will open an engineering office in Seattle.
"I am pleased to welcome Facebook to Washington state. This addition to our community reflects Seattle's standing as one of our nation's high-tech and software engineering hubs. Our deep talent pool, stemming from the outstanding engineering programs at University of Washington and other educational institutions, is the reason why these high-tech, high-wage jobs are coming to Washington. We hope and anticipate that this move marks a new round of high-tech job expansion. Seattle looks forward to being "friends' with Facebook."
