Statement

Date: May 10, 2010
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Judicial Branch

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today released the following statement on the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court of the United States:

"The Senate's advise and consent role for presidential nominations is an integral part of maintaining the checks and balance of our government. This is especially important when considering the qualifications of a Supreme Court nominee. While I have some concerns over Elena Kagan's lack of judicial experience and her stance on military recruiters on campus, I will give her nomination a fair and thorough review."
