Lincoln, Pryor Announce Nomination of P.K Holmes, III for U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas

U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor are proud to announce that Judge Paul K. Holmes, III has been nominated by President Obama for the U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas. Mr. Holmes is currently a partner at Warner, Smith & Harris PLC in Fort Smith and was formerly a U.S. Attorney for the Western District.

In December 2009, Senators Lincoln and Pryor recommended Mr. Holmes for the vacancy that was created by the Honorable Robert T. Dawson assuming senior status.

"I am pleased that the President has nominated P.K. Holmes as a U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas," Lincoln said. "P.K. Holmes has exceptional credentials and an outstanding reputation both as a lawyer and a leader in his community. I was proud to recommend Mr. Holmes to the President, and look forward to informing my Senate colleagues of his qualifications as the confirmation process moves forward."

Mr. Holmes is currently a partner at Warner, Smith & Harris PLC in Fort Smith and was the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas from 1993-2001. He earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas. Mr. Holmes has been a member of Arkansas Volunteer Lawyers for the Elderly (AVLE) since its inception, and was selected as AVLE Lawyer of the Year in 1989.
