Faith-based Community Solutions Caucus Launched, Ryan Joins New Bipartisan Group

WASHINGTON - Wisconsin's First District Congressman Paul Ryan has joined the Community Solutions and Initiatives Coalition, a new bipartisan Congressional caucus unveiled today. This coalition is dedicated to improving the working relationship between government and community and faith-based organizations.

"Government should do a better job of learning from the great successes of faith-based and community groups," Ryan said. "These organizations and their dedicated leaders and volunteers bring help directly to those who need it and touch their lives in positive ways that federal programs can't. Washington should encourage responsible, community-based efforts and work to remove bureaucratic barriers that hinder them. We can all agree to work together on this and improve cooperation between government and faith-based and community groups. That's the aim of our coalition, and I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to achieve this."
