The United States Senate today unanimously confirmed David A. Capp of Beverly Shores to be the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana. Senator Evan Bayh recommended Capp to President Obama, who nominated him for the post in December.
"I applaud President Obama for nominating such a qualified Hoosier," Bayh said. "David Capp will make an outstanding U.S. Attorney and will be a vigorous guardian of the interests of Hoosier families. He is a dedicated public servant with a well-deserved reputation as a tough prosecutor who has led efforts to crack down on crime and root out public corruption. His unanimous confirmation is a testament to his integrity and the strength of his legal experience."
Capp is currently the Interim United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana. He has been a practicing attorney with the U.S. Attorney's office in the Northern District of Indiana for the past 24 years, at various times overseeing the day-to-day operations of the civil, criminal and administrative divisions.
Prior to federal service, he was a partner at Cohen & Thiros. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the Valparaiso University School of Law.
