Issue Position

As a woman, I understand how important it is to protect a woman's right to make her own health decisions. I will fight to protect a woman's right to choose, and make thoughtful and informed decisions on her reproductive health. And as a woman who has fought for decades for the health of mothers and their children, I also know how vitally important it is to support expectant mothers through effective prenatal care, counseling, and newborn healthcare.

My Plan:

* I will work hard to protect women's rights to make their own health choices, and strongly defend a woman's right to choose.

* Understanding the health, time and financial needs of newborns and their parents, I will work hard to provide parents with paid maternity or paternity leave so they can tend to the needs of their young children.

* I will make sure our Equal Pay laws in Illinois, which guarantee equal pay for equal work, have teeth and are closely monitored to ensure compliance.
