I will fight for stronger ethics laws and campaign finance reform to make the business of our elected officials, and who they are doing business with, more transparent. I think what has been lacking in Springfield is an environment of cooperation, honesty, and integrity among elected officials. There is a fundamental disconnect between the people of this community and our elected officials.
I am going to institute an open door policy to make sure that no one feels cast aside by their state government. This lack of openness is one of the main causes of our ailing economy, because people in Springfield are out of touch with the voters. I have balanced the concerns of students, parents, teachers, and administrators while on the school board and will continue to listen to all sides before making a decision that will affect my constituents.
