The best way to improve the economy is straight forward: create jobs. I would see that the $31 Billion in the capital bill is allocated immediately to create jobs today. This will bring real jobs to our community and put our friends and neighbors back to work.
We also need to give incentives to small businesses that create jobs and invest in innovative businesses that will help local business bounce back from the recession and continue to provide their communities with the goods and services they need.
I am also going to fight for a jobs bill that will build off programs that are proven to work. The Technology Development Account pools money from venture capital firms to bring successful businesses to Illinois. We should use this to incorporate more of the vital sectors of our state economy such as agriculture, human services, and research and development.
