The current tax policy from the NC General Assembly is to spend and then tax. The first order of business is to prioritize our spending needs and then cut, consolidate, or eliminate spending.
Tax rates should be cut. Individuals and businesses are overwhelmed by their tax burden. Money left in the hands of the taxpayer has been shown repeatedly to be better for the economy.
The Taxpayer's Bill of Rights is needed immediately to rein in government growth. This legislation would limit the growth of government to the increase in inflation and population growth.
