Location: Washington, DC

Continuing his efforts to reduce the tax burden shouldered by working families across Ohio, U.S. Rep. Zack Space (OH-18) today applauded a report that 99 percent of working families and individuals in Ohio benefited from at least one of the tax cuts enacted by Congress and signed into law last year.

"Helping our friends and neighbors in Ohio shoulder the burden through these tough economic times is one of my top priorities," Space said. "I was proud to vote for one of the largest tax cuts in American history in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. I will never stop championing efforts to reduce the tax burden on Ohioans."

"This new report illustrates our commitment to cutting taxes for Ohio's families," Space continued.

The new report, issued by Citizens for Tax Justice, found that working individuals and families in Ohio received, on average, $1,046 from four tax breaks enacted by Congress and signed into law in 2009. These four tax breaks benefited working people at all income levels, making up a total of 99% percent of working families and individuals in Ohio.

Congressman Space has represented Ohio's 18th Congressional District since 2007. He has been working to restore integrity to the office, and to create the conditions to bring new industry and jobs to Ohio. Recently, Congressman Space launched FIGHTING TO RENEW OHIO, the second phase of his plan to provide long-term economic growth in Ohio's 18th Congressional District.
