Fighting to serve those who served our country, Rep. Debbie Halvorson (IL-11) announced that a GI Bill Helpline is being launched today, February 18th, to help veterans with questions on how to benefit from the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
"There are so many benefits that our veterans have access to through this bill, it is important that they know about them, and know how to access them," said Halvorson. "This helpline will ensure that no veteran loses out on the benefits they have earned and that they truly deserve."
The GI Bill Helpline will be available Monday through Friday, and can be reached toll-free at 1-888-GI-BILL-1 or 1-888-442-4551.
As the only member from Illinois on the House Veterans Affairs Committee, Congresswoman Halvorson has been a strong advocate for military families and veterans. In her first year in office, Halvorson introduced and fought for several pieces of legislation aimed at helping military families, including Families of Disabled Veterans Work Opportunity Act, HR 3908, and the Families of Veterans Financial Security Act, HR 2774.
