DeMint Staff Make Greer and Easley Stops to Discuss Health Care Solutions
Staff from the office of U.S. Senator Jim DeMint will continue their tour of the state this week to discuss health care solutions that ensure all Americans have access to personal health insurance and the freedom to make their own health care decisions. They will meet with South Carolina families, businesses, doctors and other health care providers.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2009, Monica Henriques, Senator DeMint's health care Legislative Assistant, along with Regional Director Danielle Gibbs, will participate in a health care roundtable with small businesses and health care providers at SSI Physical Therapy in Greer. Henriques, Gibbs and Regional Director Susan Aiken will meet later in the day with Easley Chamber of Commerce members.
"The most important feedback I get is when I'm traveling around the state listening to the concerns of South Carolinians, and I'm glad my staff will have the opportunity to do this too," said DeMint. "While America has the best health care system in the world, there are still challenges that we as policy makers must seriously address. Instead of promoting a one-size-fits-all government plan that tries to fix government-created problems with more government, we need to talk about common sense steps we can take to improve access and reduce costs for all Americans."
