Statement from U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL-01):
"The people of Massachusetts tonight echoed the comments that I've been hearing from constituents in Northwest Florida since July -- 'Keep the federal government's hands off of health care.' Scott Brown's decisive victory in a liberal state that Barack Obama won by more than 25 percentage points is a referendum on his administration's failure in the handling of the nation's economy and a clear message to Democrats in Congress. Both parties have a mandate from this election to control government spending, create jobs without wasteful 'stimulus packages,' and most importantly to scrap the government takeovers of health care that are pending in Congress.
Congratulations to Senator Brown, and I look forward to his swearing in as the newest member of the United States Senate without delay."
