Congressman Leonard Lance today pledged to support a repeal of any federal takeover of health care enacted this year and replace it with fiscally responsible common-sense reforms.
"I hereby pledge to the people of New Jersey's Seventh Congressional District to sponsor and support legislation to repeal any federal health care takeover passed in 2010, and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government," Lance said as part of the "Repeal It!" campaign (www.repealit.org).
Lance is the first and only member of the New Jersey congressional delegation to support the Repeal It! campaign.
For his part, Congressman Lance is a lead sponsor of the "Medical Rights and Reform Act" -- a fiscally responsible alternative health care reform measure that reduces costs and expands insurance coverage without raising taxes, rationing care or putting the government between patient and doctor.
"Should the Democrats' health care bill become law I will work to repeal it and replace it with fiscally responsible reforms like medical liability reform, small business insurance pooling and letting families and businesses buy insurance across state lines. These are ideas that have strong, bipartisan support but are absent from the Democrats' health care legislation," Lance concluded.
