Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on passage of clean energy jobs legislation authored by Senators John Kerry and Barbara Boxer by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee:

"Today's passage of comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee brings us one step closer to transforming our economy and creating good-paying clean energy jobs while protecting our environment for future generations.

"Because there is much common ground between this legislation and the American Clean Energy and Security Act that passed the House earlier this year, we have a strong foundation for progress. I look forward to working with the Senate to send historic and transformative clean energy legislation to President Obama for his signature into law."
