Bill Owens, Democratic Congressional candidate in New York's 23rd District, today welcomed the endorsement of New York's Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo.
"Bill Owens understands the needs of our working families and he's worked hard to improve our local economy by creating jobs in Upstate New York," Cuomo said. "Bill knows that Fort Drum is vital to the regional economy, and he will work to pass health reform that gives working families secure, affordable health care options. We need Bill Owens in Congress to continue fighting for jobs and to work to get our economy back on track."
"I'm proud to have the support of such an esteemed public servant like our Attorney General. Andrew Cuomo's performance and service is recognized and lauded throughout all areas of the state by both Democrats and Republicans." Owens said. "He is a tireless advocate for all New Yorkers and recognizes that we always need to put the interests of middle class families first. That's exactly what I'll do in Congress where I'll fight to create jobs, turn the page on the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, and work to get our economy back on track."
Owens has continued to travel across the 23rd district, meeting with working families and business owners to talk about job creation in Upstate New York. This weekend, Owens visited the Ticonderoga and Crown Point area to see firsthand the impact the Crown Point Bridge closure has had on the community and discuss ideas for revitalizing the local economy.
