Ros-Lehtinen Reports That Several Important S Fl Projects Received Funding In The Energy & Water Appropriations Bill Approved By The House

Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, reports that several important South Florida projects were funded in the Energy and Water Appropriations Bill that was approved by the House.

Ros-Lehtinen secured the following funds for these important projects in our community:

· $475,000 for the Miami Harbor Channel Dredging- These funds will assist in the engineering and design phase of the Miami Harbor Dredging project, which when completed will significantly increase business at the Port of Miami.

· $374,000 for the Miami River Dredging Project -- Completion of this important project will allow larger ships to navigate the river increasing commerce and benefiting the local economy. It will also ensure the environmental integrity of the ecologically vital Biscayne Bay.

· $1,000,000 for Miami Children's Museum "Going Green Initiative" -- These funds will assist the museum in preserving natural resources using environmentally advanced, sustainable, and renewable and/or recyclable materials and systems in the facility.
