Wisconsin Bowhu nters Association Names Paul Ryan "Legislator of the Year"

Wisconsin Bowhunters Association has selected Wisconsin's First District Congressman Paul Ryan to receive its Legislator
of the Year award.

Ryan, an avid bowhunter, has been a strong voice in Congress for the concerns of Wisconsin bowhunters. In particular,
Ryan has worked to get federal support and resources for Wisconsin's battle against Chronic Wasting Disease and has also fought to close a harmful loophole in U.S. tax law that currently gives imported arrows an advantage over U.S.-made arrows.

"Our association is fortunate that we have Rep. Paul Ryan looking out for issues because he understands them from personal experience. How many states can claim to have a Congressman that bowhunts and rubs shoulders with hunters on a regular basis?" said Todd Zeuske, state director and legislative liaison of the Wisconsin Bowhunters Association.

"As a longtime bowhunter, this is a special honor," Ryan said. "I will keep working to make sure that our habitats are healthy and that our children and their children will be able to enjoy this proud Wisconsin pastime."
