Boozman Statement on Six Month Anniversary of ‘Stimulus' Becoming Law

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today issued the following statement on the six month anniversary of the signing of the economic stimulus package:

“I am extremely concerned about the minimal impact the trillion-dollar stimulus is having across the country. Six months ago, the President promised that these funds would create jobs immediately, but since this law was enacted more than 2.8 million people have lost their job.

“This is an irresponsible use of hard earned taxpayer dollars. We cannot spend and borrow our way to prosperity. Americans are frustrated with results of this legislation. My constituents are telling me that they are concerned of how Washington spending is out of control and I agree. We need to focus on creating jobs, protecting jobs and protecting pension plans and savings.

“I am committed to finding solutions to get our economy back on track and provide relief to American families. We can do this by working together in a bipartisan effort.”
