WBFO 88.7: Congressman Lee Conducts On Health Care Fact Finding Mission

Republican Congressman Chris Lee met with Buffalo Hospice officials and toured the Hospice campus as part of his ongoing healthcare listening tour.

Buffalo officials discussed the potential funding challenges the organization may face and Hospice's ability to reduce overall healthcare costs. Lee tells WBFO News Hospice focuses on a specific part of life treatment that "actually works well" within our healthcare system.

"You've go an organization that is focused on a very specific part of life treatment that actually works well. I want to work away making sure we are an advocate If you have something that works, don't try to fix something that isn't broken," said Lee.

Lee has also visited rural hospitals, nursing homes, geriatric centers and small businesses. He says he is trying to learn as much as he can about healthcare reform.

Lee says he has opted for listening tours instead of town hall style meetings. Lee will be appearing at the Amherst Chamber of Commerce Friday to discuss the impact of health care reform on local small business.
