WASHINGTON, MAY 24, 2004 --"The President is taking the right steps by delivering these series of speeches outlining the plans for Iraq. It is important for the American public to understand the goals and the sacrifices involved in Iraq. By detailing the short-term and long-term plans for restoring sovereignty to the people of Iraq and holding elections, the President is providing the American people with a clear picture of the difficulties in this mission and the vital benefits of a stable, elected government in Iraq.
