Congressman Eric Massa Votes For Financially Responsible Labor HHS-Education Appropriations Bill

Today Congressman Eric Massa voted for the 2010 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Act, H.R. 3293. This fiscally responsible bill cuts 28 programs which have proven ineffective while making meaningful investments in job training, education and health services. Additionally, its investments in our schools will help lessen the tax burden on local government and thus lower our property taxes. The bill passed by a vote of 264-153.

"I'm proud to have voted for this bill which makes critical investments in job training, education and successful healthcare programs while making significant cuts," said Congressman Eric Massa. "By funding programs like Title 1 on the federal level we are helping lower local property taxes. During this recession, we need to make smart investments which will improve our economy while cutting waste. This bill makes the hard choices and the right decisions."
