Tanner's View on Health Care

Health Care

The United States sets the world standard for quality medical care. The excellence and expertise of the U.S. medical system helps patients survive illnesses that once would have been fatal and return to being productive members of our society. Today, the United States is a world leader in the development of new pharmaceuticals and new medical procedures and is at the cutting edge of continued advances in medical devices, diagnostics and new equipment. Patients from all over the world benefit from research performed in the U.S.

The key is to make health care affordable for all Americans, because our nation's strength depends on the health of its citizens. Good physical and mental health are essential for children to learn in school, for our nation's employees to be productive at work, and for our senior citizens to enjoy their well-deserved retirements. We must continue developing proposals to provide health security at a reasonable price for all Americans.
