Putnam Announces Medicare Seminars
Congressman's Office to Host Series of Medicare Informational Sessions

WASHINGTON - Congressman Adam H. Putnam (FL-12) today announced he would host a series of Medicare Seminars in the coming week. He has invited Dr. Thomas Wilson, Regional Outreach Coordinator for First Coast Service Options to present information regarding changes in Medicare benefits and to answer any questions.

"For the first time in history, all of Florida's nearly 3 million beneficiaries will have access to a Medicare prescription drug benefit. The bill will help seniors in Florida pay for the cost of prescription drugs, and those who can least afford to pay will get the most help. Seniors who lack coverage today will be able to cut their drug bills roughly in half for a modest monthly premium," Putnam stated.

"I have arranged to have Dr. Wilson to join with us to explain the new prescription drug benefit. In addition, several members of my staff will be on hand to assist with specific problems that constituents might be experiencing with the existing Medicare program," said Putnam.

"It's important that everyone know the facts surrounding the new prescription drug benefit in Medicare. It's not perfect, but it will help a lot of the people who need it the most. Those with questions should call 1-800-MEDICARE, visit my website at www.adamputnam.house.gov, or call my district office at (863) 534-3530," Putnam concluded.
