Terry Votes to Increase Defense Funding
Today Congressman Lee Terry (R-NE) voted to support our men and women in uniform and reject the agendas of radical groups that terrorize our world. Congressman Terry voted in favor of the Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010, H.R. 2647. The bill includes funds to support military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the war on terror.
"As long as terrorists have declared war on the United States and the world we must continue our fight against these savage extremists," said Congressman Terry. "Earlier this year President Obama announced that he is sending more troops to Afghanistan. This is a necessary step and I support the President in the fight against terror."
This legislation also funds new equipment depleted by ongoing military operations, new battle gear for the Army National Guard and reserves and includes military pay increases.
