Hagan On The 65th Anniversary Of D-Day

Statement

Date: June 5, 2009
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan (D-NC) released the following statement to commemorate the 65th Anniversary of D-Day on Saturday, June 6th:

"Sixty-five years ago, more than 150,000 brave young men left their mark on history as they stormed the beaches of Normandy in the name of freedom and liberty. Many lost their lives, but their sacrifices were not made in vain. Their courage under fire was emblematic of the spirit of America's soldiers, and our troops now serving at home and abroad continue to carry on that proud legacy. Today, we honor those who served and remember their valor and sacrifices to protect freedom and democracy from tyranny and oppression."
