BUDGET SPENDS TOO MUCH, TAXES TOO MUCH AND BORROWS TOO MUCH

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Randy Neugebauer released the following statement after voting against the Democrats' budget:

"In a time of economic uncertainty, Congress cannot continue down this path of fiscal irresponsibility. The American people are tired of government spending, debt and bailouts that we can't afford. Unfortunately, the Democrats' budget that passed the House today allows Congress to spend too much, tax too much and borrow too much.

"Since passing the bailouts, the so-called stimulus package and the 2009 government funding bills, spending and debt have soared. The budget outline approved today for the coming year allows for more of the same.

"I voted for a more responsible plan that allows families and small businesses to keep more of what they earn, controls our national debt, ends bailouts to protect taxpayers and says spending can't keep going up when revenues are going down.

"The Republican Budget Alternative would take this country in a new direction without raising taxes or growing government. This alternative would hold Washington fiscally responsible while empowering the American people to save responsibly, spend responsibly and invest responsibly."
