Udall Statement on the 10th Anniversary of Columbine Tragedy
Monday marks ten years since the tragic shootings at Columbine High School when two young men killed thirteen people and wounded twenty three others before killing themselves. U.S. Senator Mark Udall made the following statement in remembrance of the victims and their families: s two armed classmates kill thirteen and wound 23 more. Monday will mark the 10th anniversary "On Monday, Coloradans will pause to remember the victims and the survivors of the Columbine shootings. It's a moment in our history that we can never forget. Ten years on, we are reminded of the fragility of life, the sorrow left in the wake of senseless violence, but also that when faced with tragedy, people across our great state came together and promised to work vigilantly to make our schools safer. My heart still goes out to the families who were victims of the Columbine massacre, and I will continue to work to keep our schools safe so that we can prevent tragedies like the Columbine shootings from ever happening again."
