DELEGATION ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR NORTH DAKOTA VETERANS

U.S. Senators Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad and Congressman Earl Pomeroy announced today that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is distributing $3.26 million for renovations and improvements at the VA Medical Center in Fargo.

The $3.26 million, which comes through the economic recovery package that was approved by Congress last month, will be used to make a number of improvements to the VA hospital's campus in Fargo.

"This funding will help make some important improvements to the VA Medical Center campus, as well as create jobs in North Dakota," the delegation said in a joint statement. "That will be good for the local economy and help ensure our veterans continue to receive care at a first-rate medical facility."

The funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs with funds appropriated by Congress through the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009."
