Barrasso Statement on the President's Speech on Credit Problems Facing Small Businesses

U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), a member of the Republican Whip team, made the following statement in response to the President's speech today on the credit problems facing small businesses:

"The President is right to focus on America's small businesses to get credit flowing again. Small business is the engine room that drives our economy. Small business are responsible for 70% of new jobs in America. Unfortunately any potential gains are likely to be cancelled out by the administration's plan to increase taxes. Any tax increase will make it harder for small business to create new jobs."
