Luetkemeyer Votes to Block Pay Increase as Missourians Struggle to Make Ends Meet

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) today voted to block pay raises for members of the House.

On his first day in office, Luetkemeyer had sponsored a separate measure to stop such pay raises.

"I voted to block the pay raise because I could not in good conscience support receiving a pay increase from the same hard-working taxpayers who are currently struggling to provide for their families during these tough economic times," Luetkemeyer said. "The people of the 9th District expect me to lead by example, and that is why I have embraced the notion that what's good for the goose is good for the gander when it comes to Congressional pay raises."
