SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON NOMINATION OF GARY LOCKE TO BE SECRETARY OF COMMERCE

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen released the following statement today in response to Gary Locke's nomination as Secretary of Commerce:

"I've known Secretary-designate Locke since we became governors together twelve years ago, and I'm very pleased President Obama selected him to be Secretary of Commerce. As Governor of Washington, Gary Locke found bipartisan solutions to difficult economic challenges. That's exactly the type of leadership we need right now, and I look forward to working with him again as we continue our efforts to strengthen America's economy."
