Vitter's View: Protecting the Lives of Unborn Children
This week, I had the privilege to address members of the March for Life convention in Washington, D.C, where I thanked the thousands of students, church groups and families - including many from Louisiana - who traveled from all over the country to have their voices heard at the U.S. Capitol and in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. The March for Life is held annually in Washington, D.C., to express sorrow and disappointment with the 1973 Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision that nationally legalized abortion.
Tuesday, January 22, marked the 35th anniversary of that controversial court decision, and, as they do each year, people from many different cultural and religious backgrounds traveled to our nation's capital city to call attention to the pro-life cause. It is truly encouraging to witness the great solidarity exhibited by all of these people as they join together to fight for the lives of the unborn.
