Rep. Pitts Cosponsors Economic Recovery Act

Congressman Joe Pitts (PA-16) has joined with Republican colleagues in the House in cosponsoring H.R. 470, the Economic Recovery and Middle-Class Tax Relief Act of 2009. The legislation stands as a comprehensive alternative to the Democrat plan to spend $850 billion of taxpayer money on various projects as so-called stimulus. The plan offers incentive-based relief to job-creators and reduces the cost that government imposes on middle-class families.

"I think the American people know we can't borrow and spend our way back to a strong economy. The best way I can think of to get our economy back on track is to unleash the entrepreneurial ability of the American people. The best way to do this is to get government out of the way, not involve government more deeply in the economy.
