Stabenow Statement on Hemlock Semiconductor Corp Investment of $1 Billion in Michigan

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) today made the following statement regarding the announcement today from Hemlock Semiconductor Corporation that it will invest $1 billion in its Michigan facility, creating about 300 jobs.

"Today's announcement by Hemlock Semiconductor, of a $1 billion investment, is welcomed news for our entire state. Not only will this create hundreds of good-paying jobs, but further solidify Michigan's leadership in advanced energy technologies and research.

"I look forward to working with President-elect Obama to implement a 21st century manufacturing policy, that will help support efforts like those of Hemlock Semiconductor, and firms across our state. A policy that will invest in the newest energy technologies to create a greener future, while producing jobs here at home." - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow
