Statement

KENNEDY ON VETERANS DAY

Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement in observance of Veterans Day, which is on Tuesday, November 11, 2008:

"One of the greatest traditions of our country is the willingness of its citizens to serve others, and the men and women of the United States military are extraordinary examples of that tradition. Their devotion to duty is beyond question and their valor is proven. They volunteer to defend our nation, with the understanding that at any moment, they might make the ultimate sacrifice. On this Veterans Day, we renew our commitment to these true American heroes and their families, to the care they need and deserve, and to the ideals that they protect for each of us."
