Smith: I Won't Leave Rural Oregon Behind
Statewide bus tour stops in Myrtle Creek
While Jeff Merkley is spending the week hobnobbing with big name National Democrats and Hollywood-types, Gordon Smith is crisscrossing the state, greeting voters in every small town along the way - including Jeff Merkley's "hometown" of Myrtle Creek.
"Jeff Merkley may have been born in a small town," Gordon said today while in Myrtle Creek, "but it didn't take long for him to forget our rural communities. I'll never leave any part of our state behind."
Jeff Merkley hypes his short lived rural Oregon roots while embracing anti-rural policies and politics. The truth is that Jeff Merkley has been faking his rural credentials.
That's why the Grants Pass Daily Courier [10/9] said that "Merkley hasn't acted in the best interests of rural Oregon" and the Baker City Herald [10/22] wondered "whether he cares much about issues that matter" to rural economies.
The Coos Bay World meanwhile, said "rural Oregon needs Smith in the Senate." [10/23]
