During his time in Congress, Carter has successfully secured funding for education priorities throughout the 31st District, including funds for Tarleton State University, the Round Rock Higher Education Center, and the Temple College at Taylor Foundation to name a few.
Congressman Carter supported education funding in the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations billl. He also supported the College Access and Opportunity Act, which will help improve higher education in our country.
Carter is the father of a high school teacher and believes that the interference of bureaucracy in education has spawned an unnecessary amount of challenges within our educational system and it's time for us to change. In his first term, Carter served on the Education and the Workforce Committee, where he began his commitment to cutting red tape, reducing bureaucracy, empowering our teachers and principals and moving money and control back to our parents and local school boards.
